The Book Returns Register contains more advanced features for managing book returns. In the Book Returns Register you will be able to set the individual tickets or books that have been returned and whether those books or tickets were sold or unsold.
Make sure that the books you want to process have been marked as Issued but not as Returned. |
Create a Book Return record as follows:
1. Open the Books menu and select Book Returns Register (All Returns).
2. Select New.
3. Enter the Serial Number of the Contact which has the book(s) issued to them and then press Ok.
4. | Select the list of books which have been returned by this contact. All tickets within this selected book will be marked as Sold by default. |
5. | If some of the tickets in the book were unsold then please select the option Select from List Unsold Tickets and then select the tickets in the returned books that you wish to mark as being Unsold. Be sure to select the status of the unsold tickets as well. |
6. | If you want to mark an entire book as being unsold you can use the option Select from List Unsold Book Returns. All tickets in this book will be marked as Unsold by default. |
7. | Note for all three options above you can also Manually Enter or Scan the Ticket Number or Book Reference into this record. The scanning can be performed using the Barcode Scanner. The scan process works in a way similar to that of the picklist. |

8. Once you have selected which tickets and books are sold or unsold you can review your selections in the Returns and Unsold Tickets tabs.
9. If you want to remove a Returned book then use the right click option Remove this Returned Book in the Returns Tab.
10. If you need to remove an unsold ticket then use the right click option Remove this Unsold Ticket in the Unsold Tickets Tab.
11. | Likewise if the status of the unsold ticket needs to be changed then use the option Change Unsold Status. Select the status you want to change it to and then confirm your selection for this ticket. |
12. | Once you have finished specifying how many tickets have been sold and how many are unsold you will need to specify the total amount of Money Collected. Make sure that this amount matches the price that each ticket was sold for. |
13. Once you have set up your return record you will then need to lodge a returns payment. See Lodge Returns Payment below for more information.
