A Barcode Purpose is a unique identifier which is attached to the contact’s serial number to notify thankQ what action to undertake. For Example: Is this contact paying a Pledge/Donation or is this contact no longer at this address?

Create a Barcode Purpose ID record as follows:

1.Click on the Administration module.

2.Click on Setup Barcode Purpose.

3.Click New on the tool bar.

The new barcode purpose will be assigned a unique ID, which is shown in the Purpose ID field.  Barcode purpose IDs start with a U.

4.Select the Pledge/Donation barcode type on the Barcode Purpose drop down menu.

5.Enter a Description.

6.Click on the Values tab.

7.Select a Source Code from the pick list.

8.Click OK.
