    According to Mike Rowse

Presented by The Australian Chamber of Commerce with the support of Baker Tilly Hong Kong

2017 is going to be a big year for Hong Kong with the Chief Executive Election on 26 March. What’s the current political situation?
What are the power games behind the scenes?
What’s the foreign influence, especially the US’ under Trump’s new administration?
What are the implications for expat’s businesses in Hong Kong?

A 44-year resident of Hong Kong, the first British-born public servant to become a naturalised citizen of the People's Republic of China and now a regular columnist for the South China Morning Post and co-host of a talk show on RTHK, Mike Rowse will deliver his expert and candid predictions for Hong Kong’s year ahead – through a political, economic, and social lens.

    About our speaker:
    Mike Rowse
Mike arrived in Hong Kong in 1972. He worked in the ICAC from 1974 –80 and in the government  from 1980 until his retirement in 2008. His last three postings were as first director of the Financial Secretary’s Office, first Commissioner for Tourism and first Director-General of Invest HK. He was lead negotiator in the talks which resulted in the building of HK Disneyland and in 2003 oversaw the controversial post-SARS HarbourFest. This saga became the subject of his best-selling book: “No Minister & No, Minister – the true story of HarbourFest”.
