    Join us for the final AustCham UOW Mentor Programme session on Sustainability.

    ‘Sustainable Business Practices’ is an important topic impacting all levels of all organisations. In this session we will bring a leading sustainability expert, Mark Devadason, to share the best practice and the changes that he is seeing within organisations. 

    A small networking session (with wines) will be set before the session. Come join us to meet and mingle with the speaker, mentors and mentees! The session will be followed by a graduation ceremony to conclude the AustCham UOW Mentor Programme.

    About the Speaker:
    Mark Devadason is a global leader with a geographically diverse and broad based 30-year commercial banking experience at leading financial institution Standard Chartered Bank. Mark’s banking career covered diverse leadership roles in Wholesale and Consumer Banking, Human Resources, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability.

    From 2003 until 2007 he served as Country CEO for Standard Chartered Bank in Japan and while in Japan was also Chairman of the Foreign Bankers Association. From 2008 until 2010 he served as CEO for Standard Chartered Bank’s Thailand operations and from 2010 to 2015 he continued as NED on the board of the Thai bank. 
    He was also Chairman of the 600 member strong British Chamber of Commerce Thailand and additionally served on the Board of the Foreign Bank’s Association (Thailand). He completed the Director Certification Programme of the Thailand Institute of Directors (Class 103/2008).

    Mark Devadason's last roles at Standard Chartered were Head of the regional corporate affairs teams and Global Head of Sustainability. He was in charge of the Group’s overall Sustainability agenda, including responsibility for the Bank’s environmental and social risk management function.

    After leaving Standard Chartered Bank in early 2016, Mark established a consulting company Azabu Management Services Limited and has established a diverse portfolio of clients broadly supporting a sustainability agenda. Mark is Senior Advisor Asia to the global sustainability consultancy Business for Social Responsibility and serves on the board of HK based NGO the Mekong Club which seeks to address the issue of modern slavery and human trafficking in the supply chain. Mark is presently driving a new collaborative initiative with the Thomson Reuters Foundation to build an Asia Pacific Banks Alliance against Trafficking. Mark is also Director, Asia for Australian based Northquest, a commercial sustainable finance organisation.
