AustCham Deputy-Chair Darren Bowdern invites you to:

    2018 Economic & Property Outlook
Breakfast | The Hong Kong Club | Thursday 19 April

Global economic momentum is on the rise again with synchronised expansion across different regions for the first time in many years. With geo-political tensions and the threat of global trade wars looming, and contradictory signals, what is the near-term macro-economic outlook?

Closer to home, Hong Kong’s property market continues to remain strong after weathering many global and regional economic and geopolitical shocks in recent years. Yields are reaching record lows due to strong demand, high liquidity and persistent low real interest rates. However, the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate normalisation process and increasing fears about financial asset bubbles could dampen investment market sentiment and halt property price growth in Hong Kong.

Commonwealth Bank’s Chief Economist Michael Blythe and Colliers' Managing Director Nigel Smith will provide key insights into the global economy from both a macro and local perspective. Michael will share his outlook for the 2018 global economy, the implication for markets and businesses while also offering insight into the Australian property market. Nigel will look at what safeguards companies can take in the event of future corrections and volatility.

This is a one-off event with two leading experts and certainly not one to be missed. Please join us for breakfast and a lively discussion with the experts!
